Made to Last:

Black History Month Zine Commission

As part of our Made to Last: Connecting Communities Through Collections programme, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Glasgow Zine Library is commissioning a new zine/DIY publication.

We are looking to support the production of one new zine by a Black zine-maker, in celebration of Black History Month. The zine can be about anything that is meaningful to you and it doesn’t have to be in the English language - all proposals are welcome!

If selected, you will get:

  • £450 for you to use to cover any production costs, including your time

  • Induction into the Glasgow Zine Library catalogue and facilities

  • Ongoing access to Glasgow Zine Library throughout the research and making period, and support from the team

  • Induction into the Publication Studio at Centre for Contemporary Arts and one days access

  • Free tickets to any relevant event programmed by Glasgow Zine Library

  • Zine launch event

We will be looking for a creative and imaginative idea which will be produced by February 2025. Applications will not be judged on previous zine-making experience.

DEADLINE: 1st November 2024, 5pm

How to apply:

Please submit your proposal using the button above or follow this link to the online form: Made to Last Commission Submissions Form
