The Making Room is a bookable area of Glasgow Zine Library for people wanting space to work on their own projects. It is suitable for people who want a quiet, private space to work on your own arts and crafts projects.
We have facilities and materials for all sorts of activities including painting, illustration, zine-making, badge-making, sewing, basic bookbinding, and more.
We also have a desktop Mac with the full Adobe Suite for people interested in digital art, graphic design, film editing.
The Making Room is offered free of charge to people in our community.
There is also a printer available to use for zine-printing. This is a chargable service. Please see our price sheet for more details.

When using the Making Room please keep the following in mind:
You must book in order to use the Making Room.
The Making Room is offered on a hourly basis, between 12-6pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
You can book multiple hours, you need to select your start time and ‘add another time’.
Let us know if you can no longer make your booking.
Be respectful of the space and the materials, and report any breakages or spillage.
Don’t remove anything from the Making Room that is not yours.

Please note that GZL pledges to support The Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel. As part of this pledge we may participate in strikes called in response to the ongoing genocide in Palestine. If your booking for using the Making Space falls on a strike day and is cancelled, we will be in touch to reschedule the booking asap.
