Join GZL as we host a series of monthly TTRPG (table-top role-playing games) at the library! In this series, we will play some amazing, award-winning independent role-playing games, focused on collaborative world-building, group storytelling, and the role of communities. It’s going to be a lot of fun, with a light-emphasis on roleplaying, suitable for people with ANY level of experience in playing games like this. If you’ve always wanted to try an RPG, join us!

In this session we'll be playing I’m Sorry Did You Say Street Magic by Caro Ascersion

I’m Sorry Did You Say Street Magic is a city-building story game with no one “games master”. Each turn, a player adds either a Neighborhood, a Landmark, or a Resident, nesting cards inside of each other to showcase and spotlight the relationship between the city’s inhabitants, and the places where they live. These cards are then complicated by Events that take place in the city: festivals, elections, ceremonies, natural disasters, mysteries, or discoveries that change the flow and focus of play. As you play cards, you unearth the city’s true names — quirks and qualities that make this place wholly, intrinsically unique.

Play time: 3-4 . Learn more about this game.

Refreshments will be provided on the night! Game capacities listed below are based on 1 table of players. Depending on demand, we may run 2 or more games simultaneously.
