Risoprint your Zine! (6 week course)

  • Inkling Unit 3, 674 Pollokshaws Rd Glasgow, Scotland, G41 2QE United Kingdom (map)

Please note: this course is 5 sessions over 6 weeks and the ticket prices include the full 5 sessions. It will take place in person at Inkling's studio and Glasgow Zine Library.

In this beginners six week course with Inkling, you will have the chance to print a zine that you are already working on using the Risograph print method. You will be guided through the process of designing, printing and binding your zine. At the end of the course you will have printed & bound 20 copies of your own A5 16 page Risograph zine. You will gain hands-on experience of Risograph printing and learn how to layout and mockup your print files using Photoshop and other low cost/free software.

You do not need to know anything about Riso printing but you do need to have a zine that you are already working on, and have the content ready by the time the course begins. It will help to have an idea of what order you want your content to go in but the course will help you understand and decide on your layout.

By the end of the course you will produce 20 copies of an A5 zine, 2 colour, 16 page zine, and (with your permission) a further 10 to be shared with other group members, the GZL collection and the Inklings archive.

To be able to progress through the course, you will need to attend all sessions. For this course, we would like to prioritise folks who haven’t had a chance to do courses like this in the past. If this is you, please sign up! If you have had the opportunity to do similar courses in the past but would like to do this one, please wait until 21st September to sign up, or email us to express interest and we will let you know closer to the time if a place remains available.
