Hardcore Type - a metal typography workshop

  • Glasgow Zine Library 32-34 Albert Road Glasgow, Scotland, G42 8DN United Kingdom (map)

Please note: this event will be held in person.

An introduction to designing typography in the chaotic, symmetrical, (often illedgible), style of black metal logos.

After a brief look at some influences and inspiration, you'll be guided through the steps to make your own sprawling, spiky typography. Learning and breaking rules as you go.

Open to all abilities; this workshop will provide you with everything you need to create your own design (and the knowledge to make more in the future). All you need to bring is a word or two you'd like to transform.

Content warning: Some of the designs discussed may be of bands with violent themes.

Unsure what to pay for Pay-What-You-Can events? Find our guide here.

Please note: we can only issue refunds requested 72 hours before the workshop begins.
