Exploring Imagined Futures of Sexual Health in Scotland

  • Glasgow Zine Library 32-34 Albert Road Glasgow, Scotland, G42 8DN United Kingdom (map)

This event will be held in person at Glasgow Zine Library.

Contribute to an exciting research project exploring sexual health futures in Scotland.

Exploring Imagined Futures of Sexual Health in Scotland is a creative workshop series that involves community members in exploring sexual health, wellbeing, technologies, relationships, practices, and policies using arts-based methods.

These workshops are part of a wider research project. You can decide on the day what you feel comfortable sharing or having contributed to the research.

We will discuss what 'futures' mean to us and our experiences of sexual health. We will explore potential futures following our own interests, desires, and aspirations for ourselves and our communities, making our own thematic zines to take home.

If you are interested in the topic and talking about it with others, then this workshop is for. No previous or specialist experience or knowledge required.

You must read this participant involvement sheet and complete and return the consent form within one week of signing up otherwise we will assume you do not want to participate.

Please send any questions and your completed consent forms to Chase Ledin at sexual.futures@ed.ac.uk.

Content warning: Conversations about intimate relationships, sexual practices, abuse and/or violence, poor mental health, and mistreatment of individuals or communities may be raised in these workshops. The workshop is a closed, safe space that is facilitated by a trained public health expert and supported by the GZL staff.

About the facilitator:

Chase Ledin is a Lecturer in Social Science and Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. He is PI for the Wellcome Trust funded project Exploring Imagined Futures of Sexual Health in Scotland (2023-24).
