ONLINE WORKSHOP. This workshop explores alternative metaphors for understanding time that are often extremely resonant, exciting, and even healing for Neurodivergent people.

In this workshop we will examine the ways that the compulsory executive functioning paradigm has twisted our very existence as neurodivergent people from “difference” into “disorder,” shamed us for our differences, and then blamed us for the dysfunction that shame has caused.

In our workshop, Laurie O'Connel will take participants through some of the basics of game design. We'll go through some popular games and analyse how they work, talk about making mechanics that fit your vision, and how to write a game that works in theory and in practice.

In this workshop we will explore the possibility that “design thinking” offers an alternative paradigm to the so-called “executive functioning” paradigm so often used to pathologize neurodivergent people.
